Special meeting for the South Coast Company Secretariat Forum

Date: Wednesday 29 August 2018

The Chartered Governance Institute members and students in the South Coast Company Secretariat Forum were invited to a special meeting this summer. Guests joined us to receive an update on the progress of current Institute reforms, and to participate in a consultation on a second proposal for Charter and byelaw changes to be presented at the global Institute’s AGM on 19 September 2018.

David Venus, Immediate Past International President, and Charis Evans, Business Development Director updated you on the introduction of the new qualifying programme syllabus, affiliated membership and the new designation of chartered governance professional. They sought your views on the International Council proposals to build on these innovations, including a new name for The Chartered Governance Institute. You can read more about the proposals here.

We were also joined by Lesley Ward, Branch Liaison and Mentoring Manager for The Institute. Lesley explained her role with The Institute and discussed further support that is available to the South Coast Forum.

All members and students were most welcome to take part, and we enjoyed hearing your views.

Special briefings on proposed Charter and byelaw changes

Date: Friday 22 September 2017

Peter Swabey FCG, Policy and Research Director, outlined the strategic drivers for the proposed changes, and what they would mean for you. He will also answer any questions that you have and look forward to hearing your views on these issues.
