Richard McDermott Company Secretary
The Football Association
Richard is the Company Secretary of The Football Association. He is an Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute with over 20 years’ experience in governance roles across different industry sectors. He joined The FA in 2009, initially as the Assistant Company Secretary and was then appointed as Company Secretary in 2015.
He is responsible for The FA’s governance framework and also acts as Trust Secretary for two FA charities. He is also The FA’s designation Data Protection Officer. Richard started his career in local government before moving into financial services and has a BA in Politics and Philosophy and MSc in Sports Management and the Business of Football.
