From the November 2026 examination series, all CGIUKI examinations will be delivered through Surpass, a leading assessment platform used by awarding bodies and professional organisations around the world. This move is part of our ongoing commitment to providing a secure, reliable and positive assessment experience for all students, while enhancing the support available before and during examinations.
What is Surpass?
Surpass is a purpose-built online assessment platform designed specifically for high-stakes examinations. It provides a straightforward and intuitive testing environment, allowing candidates to focus on demonstrating their knowledge and skills. One of the key benefits of moving to Surpass is the technical support available to students.
Before your assessment
You will have access to:
- Clear guidance and preparation materials to help you become familiar with the platform.
- System checks to confirm that your device and internet connection meet the technical requirements.
- Dedicated support resources to help resolve any technical issues before exam day.
During your assessment
If you experience technical difficulties during an examination, Surpass offers:
- Online access to specialist technical support teams with expertise in the assessment platform.
- Troubleshooting to help quickly resolve issues.
Try a Sample Assessment
To help you familiarise yourself with the Surpass platform ahead of your examination, we have created some sample assessments which demonstrate the navigation and key features available during your examination.
Please note:
- The keycode is prefilled. Please do not change it as the sample assessment will not load if it is altered.
- The system check button will not work in the sample assessment. This feature will be fully functional in your live examination.
- Unlike your live examination, these sample assessments are not proctored and will not be marked.
- The sample assessments are designed to help you become familiar with the Surpass platform. They do not contain assessment content.

- Familiarise yourself with the features available during an examination.
- Build confidence using the platform before sitting your assessment.
