Welcome to the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Corporate Governance

What to do after registering as a student

Now that you’re registered, your next step is to begin reading your study text. When you feel ready, you can register for your three hour written exam.

Select the tabs below to see the steps you’ll need to follow.

You can find your study text in the resources section on MyCG.

You should also take note of any addendums needed for your exam session, which are free to download on MyCG as well.

If you need any help with getting your study text, please get in touch with our Contact Centre

On the Advanced Certificate in Corporate Governance, you can watch a range of support webinars that cover topics such as:

  • preparing for your exam
  • key areas within each module
  • how to approach and answer exam questions

We’ll be running examiner‑led webinars in the lead‑up to each exam session. You’ll receive an early notification with all the details, and you’ll be able to book your place easily. Each webinar will focus on exam preparation, including helpful techniques and approaches to boost your confidence.

You can access all webinars through the resources page on MyCG.

Each exam session has a closing date for new bookings, as well as for making any changes to an existing booking. These deadlines are usually at the start of April for the June exams and at the end of September for the November exams. However, it is your responsibility to check the relevant deadlines for your exam session.

Make sure you register before the closing date. If you have already booked an exam and need to make a change, you will need to do this before the deadline too. You can find all key dates on the Student Information page of the CGI website.

Once you have booked your exam, check the website for details including the dates, times, how to access the exam and your next steps. Our Assessment team may get in touch with further information closer to the time.

You will need to plan your own study schedule, and many students find it helpful to work with one of our tuition partners.

From our experience, students who choose this method are more successful in their studies.

To help you plan your time, take a look at our study skills handbook which provides tips and tricks on how to get the best out of your studies.

You can select a tuition partner that offers distance learning to students anywhere in the world, or facetoface classes where available. Each partner provides different study packages. For example, some offer revision days, while others run weekly sessions. This means you can choose the approach and price that works best for you.

You can find the list of tuition partners on the Registered tuition providers page of the website.

Why study with a tuition partner?

Below are some of the reasons students benefit from tuition support:

  • Stay focused and motivated

  • Regular checkins with a tutor and a clear study schedule help you keep on track.

  • Build deeper understanding

  • Tutors help you apply the syllabus to reallife situations, giving you a fuller grasp of each subject.

  • Prepare effectively for your exam

  • You’ll have access to mock exams, practice papers and marked assessments, so you can understand your progress and receive valuable feedback.

Networking

Connecting with other students and members can be a great source of support while you study. It’s especially useful to meet others who are preparing for the same exam session as you.  Here are some ways to build your network:
