Guidance Note

Cyber Security and Governance for Charities

Guidance Note Charity Header

Cyber security is no longer solely an operational or technical concern. It is a governance issue that can affect a charity's ability to deliver its purposes, protect beneficiaries and data, maintain services, comply with its legal and regulatory obligations, and retain public trust.

This guidance helps trustees, governance professionals and charity leaders understand and oversee cyber risk through a practical governance framework aligned with the UK Government's Cyber Governance Code of Practice. It includes trustee questions, governance tools and practical templates to support effective oversight, organisational resilience and informed decision-making.
