Overview


Organisations have seen a step-change in reporting requirements pertaining to ESG-related content, cyber security, diversity disclosures and audit quality, and increased requirements for internal controls. There has also been a revolution in how technology has been used in the governance, finance and legal sectors.

In this session, our experts will discuss:

Speakers

Justin Thornton, Director of Internal Audit & Risk at Aston Martin Lagonda

Justin is a process, risk and control specialist having originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC where he spent the first 14 years of his career. The last ten years have been spent leading internal audit, internal control and enterprise risk management teams with time at Royal Mail, Jaguar Land Rover and the last six years at Aston Martin.

Justin is married with two daughters (17 and 15), has a Covid Cavapoo ‘Mabel’ and likes to spend his spare time travelling and following the highs and lows of Nottingham Forest.

Rebecca Waite, Deputy Company Secretary at Deliveroo

With nearly 12 years experience in UK FTSE 100 and 250 companies, Rebecca currently works at Deliveroo plc a newly listed company where, alongside the Company Secretary, she has spent time building a new CoSec function and implementing a number of new processes, procedures and governance frameworks with a focus on the use of technology to improve efficiency across the business. These various activities led the team to win 'Team of the Year' at the 2023 CGI awards. Other previous experience includes senior roles at National Grid, William Hill and easyJet. Outside of the work environment, Rebecca loves to travel and is an avid crossfitter.

James Quaile, Corporate Markets at Atticus

James is a senior member of Atticus' Growth team. He is responsible for building relationships with organisations across multiple verticals, including the UK, European and American markets. James began his career at Slaughter and May and as a lawyer at Watson Farley & Williams, before transitioning to technology where he has helped build commercial teams serving the legal and compliance sectors and been responsible for growth.

James is married with a daughter (1), has a Covid Cavapoo ‘Ozzy’ and likes to spend his spare time following sport and playing the drums.
