Karina is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute who specialises in the provision of corporate governance services to both listed and private financial services businesses. She has over 25 years’ experience in boardrooms collaborating with directors and key stakeholders to continuously improve the effectiveness of boards. She has led and/or supported a range of Board Evaluations, both internal and external. She is an experienced People Leader who builds strong team engagement and performance; promotes a culture of collaboration; and continuously works to develop team members so they can reach their potential. Karina is currently the Group Company Secretary for AXA UK where she leads a team of governance professionals supporting AXA’s Personal, Commercial and Health Insurance businesses in the UK. Prior to joining AXA in December 2024, Karina spent seven years at Aviva, most of which leading teams of governance professionals across the Insurance, Wealth and Investment Management businesses. In her last role at Aviva, Karina led the Plc and Corporate teams delivering group centre and listing requirements. Prior to Aviva, Karina spent 15 years at Invesco, a global investment management business, where she started as an Investment Trust Company Secretary and worked her way up to the Head of Company Secretarial, EMEA.
