Drafting a scheme of matters reserved for the board of a multi-academy trust

Many multi-academy trusts (MATs) struggle to establish schemes of delegation. This guidance provides practical points for MAT boards to establish those functions and authorities that must not or should not be delegated – that is a list of matters reserved to the board. Once that list has been agreed it can facilitate the development of those matters that can be delegated, articulated in an agreed and written scheme of delegation.
