Legislation and regulation
The Government’s Summer 2026 Legislation Programme was published on 14 April 2026 setting out an ambitious programme of laws to be progressed during the Dáil and Seanad’s 13‑week summer session.
The Summer Programme includes 38 Bills prioritised for publication, 26 Bills prioritised for drafting, and a further 73 legislative measures in preparation. A further 25 pieces of legislation are currently at various stages before the Dáil, Seanad and in Committee.
Among some of the Bills and legislative measures likely to be of particular interest to companies and partnerships include the:
1) Miscellaneous Provisions (Registration of Limited Partnerships and Business Names) Bill, and
2) Co-operative Societies Bill

The General Scheme of the Miscellaneous Provisions (Registration of Limited Partnership & Business Names) Bill 2024 was published in 2024 and this Bill is on the Summer Legislation Programme as one of the Bills to be progressed for drafting by the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.

Co-operative Societies Bill
The General Scheme for this Bill was published January 2023 and the Bill is on the summer legislative programme for priority drafting by the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.
