Further Education specialist Fiona Chalk named Governance Champion of the Year

Fiona Chalk, Governance Consultant & Trainer at Governance4FE has been named Governance Champion of the Year by ICSA: The Chartered Governance Institute, the professional body for governance. Fiona, founder of Governance4FE, a community organisation that specialises solely in Further Education governance, received the award for the work that she has done to improve outcomes for students by increasing the effectiveness of those tasked with the oversight of governance in the further education and skills sector.

As territories around the world are introducing AI legislation, e.g. the EU AI Act, this masterclass covers the essential responsibilities that the secretariat and Board have around compliance of AI. We examine the AI legislative horizon and what needs to be in place for operational AI governance and for boardroom oversight. Furthermore, it will address how AI requires the co-ordination of Legal, Risk, and Ethics. If not properly managed, these matters will slow down AI deployments. Learn how to ensure there is co-ordinated effort to manage AI across these critical functions, to ensure AI deployments are a success.

New Chair of ICSA: The Chartered Governance Institute’s Guernsey Branch named as Teresa Le Couteur

ICSA: The Chartered Governance Institute is pleased to announce the election of Teresa Le Couteur, Group Company Secretary for Northern Trust Guernsey, as Chair of the Institute’s Guernsey Branch, effective 1 January 2021. Teresa’s was elected to the position by the Bailiwick’s membership and succeeds Paul Smith, who chaired the branch from May 2019 until December 2020, having been Vice Chair since Jan 2016.
